Tom's Elite BBQ

Address: 501 Gallatin Ave

Summary:  I haven't yet been, but my friend got takeout for a party.  It tasted like normal barbeque (I'm not an expert in barbeque and don't differentiate between qualities well).

I wanted to post a menu photo if it helps

Battered and Fried

Battered and Fried, East NashvilleIn three words: boston, seafood, sushi

Josh says:  the subtitle is "Boston Seafood House featuring fried seafood, spirits, and a raw oyster bar".  Same owner as Beyond the Edge.  Also has a sushi bar inside.

The inside is like a Bostonion tavern with more windows. The food quality is great, and the presentation of the fried dishes is in a newspaper with brown paper bag format.

Shelby Dog Park

Address: 2000 Boscobel

Shelby dog park is a popular asset to this dog-loving neighborhood.  Dog's are strong here because a) people like dogs, b) people feel safer with dogs in the homes/yards, c) many don't have kids and dogs serve in a family member role in lieu of children.

The dog park makes a lot of human friends.

Mad Donna's

ls-maddonnas-logosIn three words:  fine, American, diva

Summary:  Mad Donna's is this interesting blend between American food, feeling a little upscale (but not expensive), and a shout out to divas (diva = think Cher).

It's a good place to eat and has a nice patio.

My personal favorite dish was the Black Bean burger, a house-specialty vegeterian burger.

Address: 1313 Woodland St.

Rosepepper Cantina

en-rosepepper-logo

In three words: Sonoran, margaritas, green salsa

Josh says: A restaurant with food from Mexico, but not a Mexican restaurant in the "I'll have combination J" way. Very popular. Awesome appetizer chips with 3 types of salsa.

Seems to have a reputation for great margaritas, but I personally can't distinguish the quality of margaritas.

Rosepepper has been in the neighborhood for a while and loves East Nashville.

Address: 1907 Eastland Ave
