Shelby bottoms has 5 miles of paved trails through forest, grassland and wetlands that quickly convinces you that you're not in the middle of a major city.
It's located along the eastern edge of East Nashville, next to Shelby Park and has entrances in the Barclay and Inglewood neighborhoods.
It is excellent for walking, biking, and dog-walking.
Pedestrian Bridge
In 2008 the Pedestrian Bridge was opened that connects the greenways of Shelby Bottoms to those of Donelson. This makes it possible to walk or bike from East Nashville to Opry Mills and watch a movie or go to the Wave Country water park (open in the summer only).
