East End is wonderful--beautiful homes, but a little too edgy for your mainstream Nashvillian. The area is very walkable and many residents are artists and entrepeneurs--people with flexible schedules that like staying in the neighborhood.
As the neighborhood website says, "one of Nashville's oldest and best preserved historic neighborhoods."
